Frequently asked questions

Do Wyoming residents use preference points?

Not for elk, deer or antelope. Resident licenses are drawn at random, so the odds are the quota over first-choice applicants.

How do nonresident points work in Wyoming?

Most nonresident licenses go to a preference-point draw, highest points first; the rest go to a random draw that also includes everyone who missed in the point draw.
